The ultimate feeder for stopping squirrels!
Over the many years we've been in business, we have supplied many different squirrel proof feeders. But this feeder is without doubt the best we have ever stocked.
A spring mechanism for each of the three perches allows small birds to feed from the feeder, but as soon as a squirrel or large bird stands on the perch the spring mechanism activates, closing off the port hole to the food and preventing them from feeding. The plastic dividers between each of the port holes prevents clever squirrels from standing on the neighbouring perch and feeding from the port hole next to it. The dome like cover above the port holes not only protects the holes from most rain fall entering the feeder, but also forces squirrels to stand on the perches to reach the food which again will activate the spring mechanism.
The entire lid and base of the feeder is made from metal making the feeder chew-proof, preventing any squirrel damage. The lid opens by pressing two buttons either side of the lid simultaneously, which also stops squirrels lifting the lid and feeding. The base of the feeder can also be removed in the same way which allows for exceptionally easy cleaning with no tools required.
This is a large feeder, being 43cm high and 27cm wide allows this feeder to hold up to 1.1kg of seed. Therefore, reducing the times you need to refill this feeder.
A squirrel proof feeder like this which uses a traditional style has much more success than squirrel proof feeders that feature a cage around them. We have often found birds being hesitant towards entering the cage and will often use any other feeders in the area without a cage over a caged feeder. With that, we highly recommend a squirrel proof feeder like this over any cage bird feeder.
Please note, for this feeder to be 100% squirrel proof, we recommend hanging it at least 30cm away from anything around it. This is to stop the possibility of a squirrel reaching over from something nearby and reaching the port holes without the squirrel touching the perches.

Yes it takes several weeks for the birds to get used to feeding from these stations, squirrel proof so far. I must have bought 2 about 6 months ago. Easy to keep clean & refill. Yes I would recommend 👍🏼
It has been hanging for a week but the birds are a little wary of it. They do approach the feeder but don’t land on it. It is bigger that the others. Hopefully that will soon be rectified when get hungry enough.
Hi Sandra
We do advise that you allow up to 4 weeks for your birds to become comfortable using any new feeder, especially something as large as this feeder which is unlike many other feeders. In the meantime may I suggest removing your other feeders for a week, therefore forcing your birds to come out of their comfort zone and try the new feeder. Once a few have used it the rest will follow and discover it is no threat to them. If you have already removed any other feeders from your garden then it will just be a waiting game, which like you mentioned, will be shortened once the birds are more hungry when their natural food is depleting.
