Just a quick message to say we are now supplying our very own bird tables, built by us and delivered free of charge to local customers. Oh...and they're built to last, too!
We currently have 2 varieties priced at £35.00 & £45.00, respectively. The £45.00 table comes with protective mesh to stop access by larger birds such as pigeons and doves; thus, only allowing small birds to feed from the table. It means more food for the smaller birds and saves you money, too! Each table is treated with a bird-friendly, top quality, wood preserving stain to ensure long service. We will adding some pictures and the facility to purchase on the website soon.
In the meantime if you have any questions then just email me at email@example.com. We'll be happy to help.
It's official...the starlings are back in Nantwich again and in their usual huge numbers.
Despite Cheshire East saying they were going to resolve the 'problem' it appears that the starlings aren't aware of any changes to their favourite roosting sites. After all it is just a natural reoccurring event and if our council decide to remover the starlings from their roosting areas, then all they'll do is relocate the problem elsewhere. Starlings love built-up areas because there is, on average, a higher atmospheric temperature in towns and cities. Do we not all prefer higher ambient temperatures in which to sleep in? (Actually, do starlings sleep? I have walked the dog at 1am and they're still making a din even at that time of night!).
Yes, I know they make a mess and it is an inconvenience to residents. But if we each had the ability to 'lock-out' our natural surroundings because it inconvenienced us, either wildlife or other, then what a sadder place we would live in.
I, for one, will accept the mess on my vehicle, dive for cover when they're over head or put up with their night-time squabbling until they decide to move on in early spring.
