Ground Guard For Ground Feeding BirdsOne question we get asked about on a regular basis when talking to our customers is "how can I stop all the big bad birds from eating all my bird food - they're just wiping us out and it's costing us a fortune!"
Now, here at Gala Wildlife, we believe all creatures are equal and deserve to be treated the same regardless of size, etc. However, we do understand our customers finding it frustrating when their hard-earned bird food is going up in a flurry of beaks and wings! If you're feeding on the ground, then you're definitely going to encourage them down for a free-for-all feast. So what can you do?!

We are, as a nation, getting more and more aware of the problems arising from over feeding waterbirds too much white bread, causing a condition called Angel Wing. Our Complimentary Waterfowl Food is the perfect solution to visiting our parks, rivers and canals, with the intention of feeding resident ducks, geese & swans...without the conundrum of what to offer them. Packed with a plethora of seeds and flaked maize; it also includes feed pellets with additional vitamins, proteins, minerals & amino acids for that added health boost.
If you haven't noticed already the birds are singing their courtship songs and gathering nesting material for their forthcoming brood. It's a time of year that I love as I watch our garden birds going about the busy procedure of establishing a territory, nest building and finally laying eggs and rearing this years offspring.
One way to get a front-row seat watching wild birds during the breeding season is to hang a suitable nest box in your garden - conveniently located so you can watch their activity. Seeing birds raising chicks in the box is a great way for people, young and old, to connect with nature. Fitting a nest box in your garden significantly helps birds, as potential nesting sites are becoming harder to find due to older building renovations, woodland habit and hedgerow loss, overly tidy gardens and predation. We have a small selection of nest boxes currently available which offer good value for money, and nest box protection plates if you have predators such as squirrels and woodpeckers in the vicinity.
